Jump to the water (III): Risks

The jump to the water is an exercise that displays a major difficulty, especially if we want to look for a good transition towards the swim quick. On the other hand, it is necessary to take certain precautions  because it actually implies certain risks.

In the recreational swim, the jump to the water is one of the funniest activities and  like agame in swimming pool is used as much, as in  natural bathtubs.

Nevertheless, many acrobatic jumps and of head have derived in episodes of permanent paralysis, after cervical injuries produced by a bad fall.

Most serious of the subject it is that it does not need to fall of high altitude so that these situations take place. Only one bad entrance or a blow of the head at heart of the swimming pool  can produce us these injuries. It is why, in the swimming pools, normally, the head jump is prohibited.

In the swimming pool jumps the problem normally is in entering ahead with the head. If we jumped with the arms over the head, these will be first in contacting with the bottom and could cushion the impulse, if the fall were defective, for that reason is going to be the main precaution.

We will continue with the main errors that we are going away to find when we want to learn to jump to the water.
